If you are looking to buy a Nikon D5200, but are still unsure, check out our blog pages for information, tips and reviews of this latest DSLR. The D5200 is an entry-level DSLR camera and is built on the success of the D5100. The D5100 impressed everyone at its launch with a 16 MP file size and an articulated back screen that was then very unconventional for this level of camera. The video options on the D5100 were also exceptional for its time. Nikon have increased the file size to 24MP for the D5200 and also put in a new Expeed3 processor. This means that the D5200 can now shoot at 5FPS, has an extensive buffer and is even better for shooting video. Video frame rates have also been enhanced, adding two interlaced options. It has also adopted a better AF system from the D7000 series. The new D5200 is now an exceptional camera both for still images and for video. At the moment it is the best non-professional Nikon DSLR available. Now is a great time to buy a Nikon D5200.

The entry-level market is a tough place for manufacturers at the moment. Nikon have released the D3200 to great acclaim and Canon have updated their 600D/T3i to produce a more video friendly 650D/T4i. Pentax and Sony have also released cameras in this range. All the manufacturers are focussing on file size and AF speeds, as these elements are important for both stills photographers and videographers. The Nikon SWM lenses (silent wave motion) make shooting video easier as the AF motor is silent. The D5200 autofocus can function fully when shooting video. The internal stereo Mic in the D5200 is a useful addition, though it also has an external Mic socket. It can be connected directly to an HDMI TV and even has possible WiFi connectivity and GPS options. Still wondering whether to buy a Nikon D5200? What is stopping you?
